Who’s Who: Munerah Al-Rasheed, head of World Customs Organization’s Regional Intelligence Liaison Office

Munerah Al-Rasheed has been appointed to lead the World Customs Organization’s Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices, the first Arab woman to ever hold this position.

She was elected recently during the 31st Global Meeting of RILO at the organization’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, and has been assigned to the post for the next two years, her term ending in 2026.

Armed with 18 years of overall experience, Al-Rasheed has taken on various roles during the last two decades, gaining valuable skills in the process.

In her previous role, she was director of RILO Middle East for the last six years at the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.

Prior to that, she was the program manager at the Human Resources Development Fund for two years, working with small and medium-sized enterprises and creatives within the Kingdom.

She also worked in public relations at Volkswagen and at Al-Manahil Holding in Riyadh, for two years in each role.

Before, she was the regional manager at Credit Suisse for a year and a manager of admissions and registration at her alma mater, Al-Yamamah University, for six years.

In her career as a leader, she has represented 11 local offices in the Middle East in various international institutions.

Al-Rasheed earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New Haven in the US and an executive master’s degree in business administration from Hochschule Furtwangen’s collaborative MBA program with Al-Yamamah University.
